Dominic Grizzelle - stylist and content creator

Can you tell us a little about yourself ? Your story of becoming a prominent fashion influencer.

My name is Dominic Grizzelle a 25 yr old LA/LV based Stylist / Content Creator . Well I started out by simply thrifting clothing in thrift stores and re-creating them to make fun unique outfits that I would post on my tumblr . I guess that's where all the traction began. And this was prior to my burning desire for fashion .
Personal style is eternal.
My love for personal style has honestly been more stronger than my love for fashion.

How did you develop an interest in fashion? What drove you to move that passion onto social media ?

I guess you can say my love for fashion was always with me growing up. Whether it be me stealing my mom's/sister's clothing and changing in the school bathroom to  thrifting $3 vintage jeans and bleaching them just to look designer. But my love for personal style has honestly been more stronger than my love for fashion . I began to take it more seriously once I seen the feedback I was getting from people around the world . and began to post more frequently and engage with my followers

How does your approach differ in social media ?

My approach on social media differs from many because my end goal is beyond just me . I hope to inspire my black community ... especially the men. To break down the walls of toxic masculinity by inspiring them to have a more open mind and a little more compassion and understanding to not only homosexuality, but also heterosexuality and all of the LGBTQ community to prove  that you can wear a fluorescent crop top and just be as much as a man as the construction guy across the street sledge hammering . Society has projected a certain image on men that if you're not this particular man you're just not man enough and this is something I've had trouble understanding growing up.... particularly in my community.
My approach on social media differs from many because my end goal is beyond just me.
I  just use more social media as a platform to connect with my audience and to showcase my evolving work .

What inspires you to pursue social media as a career ?

I don't wish to pursue Social Media as a career.  Who's to say social media is a long term thing?  We've all seen so much evolution is this particular industry that nothing is certain. I  just use more social media as a platform to connect with my audience and to showcase my evolving work .

How do you decide which brands to partner with ? How do you ensure that your fans are receptive to sponsored content ?

I'm very selective when it comes to choosing what brands I want to partner with , and to be honest I think that actually adds value to GRIZTRIZ. I've turned down so many partnerships and campaigns based off energy alone. If the energy isn't there and that particular brand doesn't represent POC and inclusivity then I respectfully decline and move on. I think it all has to do with what brands fall along the lines with your core values .  As you can see through my work most of my post are not even sponsored . It's important to remember why you started this and preserving your passion and love for it .

Your best beauty tips?

I'm honesty so terrible when it come to beauty tips because I don't really like to apply anything to my skin or body that's not needed. I guess I can say a daily use or rose water for a toner is THE BEST .
